Filming in London

Yesterday me and my group, (Houda and Ardit) along with Houda's lover played by Edwin, went to Enbankment and filmed some new scenes. We filmed along the river near the london eye. We also filmed around the park just infront of the london eye. We managed to film without the weather changing.

Editing Problem

Due to the imac computers not working we can't start editing. We have one scene to film but we would like to start editing so we will have less editing to do later when we have all our scenes filmed.

Audience Theory- Feminist Film Theory

  • Visual Pleasure and Narrative cinema was introduced in 1975.

  • Cinema reflects society which reflects a patriarchal society.(Male dominated society)

Patrialchal and Phallocentrism are linked

  • Phallus is a symbol of power.

  • Guns are used in films to help show most mens power in a film.

  • Guns=Phallus=Power

  • The male mid-life crisis and the phallocentrism

Most men feel that as they are getting older they lose their sense of phallocentrism so then they feel they need to buy objects like e-jaguar to restore the power in which they have lost.

Digi-packs

For this years project aswell as creating a music we were supposed to create a website and a magazine poster but instead of a website we have to create a digi-pack.

A digi-pack is made out of thick card and because o the usage of card on it, it makes it basically shatterproof. The digipack allows more more pictures and art to go around the cd/dvd. These cases were originally used for leading musician albums. The digipacks are not very expensive and can be used easliy for any cd or dvd project. The digipack some in different sizes and styles. There is a

Audience Theory

There are three Audience Theory that we can apply to help understand the relationship between text and audience.

Effects Model

The text has an influence upon the audience. The audience are passive and powerless to resist and prevent the influence of the text. The power lies within the message of the text. This model is also called the Hypodermic Model. The messages in the media texts are like injections, its a syringe-like media.

Filming

Wednesday 14th October, we started filming, during lunch. We started filming the scene in the park in which the female singer is singing about her lover. The shots we used was long shots, close ups, mid shots, high shots and and some tracking shots.

Later during the day we filmed the dance sequence in the dance studio. We filmed the dance using different shots like close up mids shot and long shots. Each time we filmed a different type of shot we also filmed it so you could see the dance from different angles.

Filming the dance scene was quite fun because while were filming, we were trying not to make Houda (the main female singer) laugh. In the end everything we needed to film was filmed.

Friday 16th October, Me and Houda (while our other group member was away) tried to film the party scene in the drama studio, but it didn't go too well. We did film a scene with the party cast and the main female singer (Houda) all dancing together.

The Lyrics to Keshia Angeline's Song 'Only You'

The lyrics for her song could not be found on the internet so Houda had to listen to it and then write down the lyrics. Luckily Houda is a quick song learner so she has aready learnt all the lyrics. Here they are:

I've been around I gotta see it too,
and aint nobody catch me like you do
Nobody could ever compare to the way I see you,
how you do what you do
Always there,
Coz I just want to love you
I just want to hug you
Baby I wont forget you
Coz all I see is you and me

All I think about is you,you
Baby boy
Well I just really wanna be with you,you
I wish you could see
All I think about is you,you
Baby boy
All I wanna do is love you,you
Only you could set me free

I close my eyes and you are all I see
wish you could be more than just a dream
Should I wait for it to be real or
just see how I feel or ... coz
you bring out the best in me
Coz I just want to love you
I just want to hug you
Baby I wont forget you
Coz all I see is you and me

All I think abou is you,you
Baby boy
Well I just really wanna be with you,you
I wish you could see
All I think about is you,you
Baby boy
All I wanna do is love you,you
Only you can set me free

And I just cant wait till I have you close to me
Baby you so high there almost no more gravity
And every step I take I'll always be there by your side
From now untill the end of time
And I just cant wait till I have you next to me
Your like a living version of a fantasy
And every step you take I'll always be there by your side
We''ll be together till the end of time

(ooo ooo)
All I think about is you,you (all I think about is you ooo)
Baby boy
Well I just really wanna be with you,you
I wish you could see
All I think about is you,you
Baby boy
All I wanna fo is love you,you
Only you could set me free.

A2 media music videos

This group of people did a video for Micheal Jacksons-Blame it on the Boogie. This was written by Yorkshireman Mick Jackson. It was originally written for Stevie Wonder, he was asked by Munich to record the track himself. Mick Jackson did a version and The Jackson went off to do a version. Micks was the more soulful version and the Jacksons was the more uptempo version.

This group below is another A2 group doing a music video for Justin Timberlakes Oh No.

This group below made a video for the song One Republic Apologize-Timberland.

100 Greatest Music Videos

Musical Youth-Pass the Dutchie

This so was originally "Pass the Kutchie", meaning a marijuana pipe, because all the members of the group were between the age of 11 and 16 the manager suggested to change the lyrics from "Kutchie" to "Dutchie". This also helped them put the song on the radio and MTV. Having black people on the screen at that time was not usual.

So Solid Crew-21 sec

This group of singing were new to the singing, this was their first song. As no one knew them, in the song. They each had 21 seconds in the song to introduce themselfs within the 3 mins of the song.

MC Hammer-Can't touch this

This song is mostly about the pants. The pants excentuates his dance moves. It looks like crazy trousers. They were like genie trousers. The song catches your attention because of the beat and the mad dance moves.

Emails sent out to the artists

14th September,
Houda sent an e-mail to Corinne Vielle. The letter read:

Hi my name is Houda, im a 18 year old student from England who is studying media at Robert Clack 6th Form/College. I am currently doing a project in media studies I have to make a music video for my coursework. However I have to use unsigned music. I was looking around for R'N'B music because that is what I'm interested into and I found your song 'Therapy', it is so good I love it. I thought of some great ideas but before I am able to do anything I need your permission to use your song and make a video from it. I also have to make a web page and a CD cover, but dont worry none of it will be posted online or used as my own creation. However we are aloud to post them up onto YouTube if we have permission from you, and we will also explain on their that this is your song. Please can you get back to me as soon as possible because I need to get started very soon.I would be very greatful if you would also send me the lyrics so I can learn them. Hopefully your song will get me a good grade because of the lyrics and the catchy beat. It will also be promoting you and your song.

Choosing the Music

We have been given a selection of music on a website 2 choose out music from for the music video. We have selected about four diferent songs which we liked. Before we use the song we have to get permission from the artsist to use it.

Music Videos

Music Videos are another way in which the companies and and song writers use to advertise their songs and get a wide range of audience. Music videos are sometimes used to tell a story. An example is Micheal Jackson ,most of his songs tell a story. The video below shows one of Micheal Jasksons music videos.

Introduction

The task that i have been given to do this year is to:

  • Create a promo music video (needs to be aleast 5 mins).

For this task I will be working with Houda Vernege-Fanus, Alma Futu, and Ardit.

Along with creating a video we will need to produce:

  • A website homepage for the band.
  • A cover for it's release on DVD.
  • A magazine advertisement for the DVD.
In addition to that i will need to make a critical evaluation plus research and planning.

What are my favourite videos?

One of my favourite is Micheal Jacksons-You rock my world

I like this song because of the dance moves and the video is like a story so it makes you want to carry on watching it to see what happens next. It keeps you intrested.

Ciara- Like a Boy

I like this video because of the clothing being worn and also the dancing. It is very upbeat and keeps you involved.
